Interview with Kathleen Anderson Ross

Kathleen interviewed me for her blog at kathleenandersonross.com, check it out:

The New Old Fashioned Ice Cream

A few weeks ago, I caught up with my husband and son at the Ojai Farmers Market and they each had in hand a half pint container of something. They said it was ice cream and offered me a taste. I had one little quarter spoon of one of the flavors because I try to stay away from dairy. It tasted better and creamier than any ice cream I had ever tasted and I cautioned my son not to eat too much. Later on I read the label and realized that Henry’s Frozen Delight is the discovery of the decade: raw, vegan, 100% organic, handmade, seasonal ingredients, delicious, amazingly creamy and deliciously nurturing. And I ordered a half pint of my own.

These Two Flavors Are Incredible (If I Do Say So Myself)

Orange Cream, made with the fresh juice and zest of locally grown, organic oranges.

And here is something you may have never tried, but its a throwback to my own youth in Argentina "Dulce No Leche with Chocolate Chips" This is possibly the most rich and indulgent flavor I've ever created. I worked hard to get just the flavor I remember from when I was a kid.

My Favorite Raw Restaurant...in the World!

We've tried a number of organic and vegetaian restaurants while visiting Buenos Aires, but of course we keep returning to the only 100% organic restaurant that serves a raw gourmet menu: Buenos Aires Verde.

Even my wife Tiffany who has sampled the cooked food at Verde and other restaurants agrees, their food is the best tasting food in the city, and is better than most of what you can find in the US. The culinary tradition in Argentina rivals France and Italy. The flavor bar is set really high in a place like B.A. no matter where you eat. You don't have to eat at the fanciest restaurant in the city to get an incredible meal.
